The humble t-shirt.. totally essential, you need one, or many. It is hard to improve upon (many have tried), and there are endless options on the ever growing market. 

So how do we go about designing a t-shirt? 

We knew from the beginning that we would explore jersey. At its heart, SAINTABLETT is all about the heavier product. TROUSER 001 is the foundation (you can read a post about that here), and we will continue to build on our range of bigger, investment pieces. But its a clothing brand, and you need a tee. 

I've never really found a tee I love. I've tried loads of fits, I was victim of the longline trend ("buttwipe tees" as they are known on popular menswear podcast Throwing Fits), I've done giant band tees, I've done fitted, I've done them all. I knew the boxes we wanted to tick: 

• Branded, but subtly so - I love the feel of community that comes with a sly nod from a fellow menswear enthusiast as you both queue for an oat flattie on a crisp morning, but over-the-top branding is not something I personally enjoy.
• Boxy - A crossbreed of the oversized band tee that raised me and a more sophisticated, flattering silhouette. I need my legs to look longer, and lets face it, you probably do too. Longer length sleeve, relaxed wider neckline, and shorter body. 
• Heavy - our tees are 300gsm 100% cotton. This is, for me, the sweet spot. Heavy but not irritating or uncomfortable. 
  

The result is TEE 001. It would have been easy to grab some blanks, relabel, and off we go. But we wanted something unique and new. Made in England, custom knitted and dyed, and an exact replica of a fit I sewed in my living room on day one. Our signature silhouette.
